Summer in the Psalms

There is no other book in the Bible that's quite like the book of Psalms. In fact, it has been the songbook for God's people since ancient Israel. The average Jew, the first Christians, the Reformers, even Jesus himself all saturated their hearts and imaginations in this book. Why? Because this songbook covers the wide gamut of our emotions and experiences as human beings. It teaches us what a relationship with God sounds like. It invites us to be a fly on the wall, and listen in on those who know the Living God and know what it is to be redeemed by his loving mercy. The Psalms model, instruct, and give language to God's people for their lives of worship, and they bring us to Jesus, their ultimate subject. Every summer we walk through the Psalms one by one, listening in on their conversations with our God, and enrobing their life of faith.
